UNDER THE GUN: The player to the left of the big blind preflop who must act first. After the flop the first person in left of the button is said to be under the gun.

UNDERDOG: The start hand that is unlikely to end up the winner.

UPCARDS: Cards that are dealt faceup for opponents to see in stud games.
