Aztec Riches Poker Review

Click here for $50 Sign-Up Bonus, 25% Match

This site offers pretty much the same basic features as the rest of its brethren in the Prima Poker Network. They've got the new Rounders Tournament, the usual smattering of guaranteed prize pool tournaments, and Microgaming's predictable (if not 100% reliable) software.

Aztec Riches Poker has some interesting Sit and Go's, and 4 opportunities daily to win $1,000 with no money down (Can't beat that! Or can you?). The software is not the best - tends to be slow and sometimes buggy - a shame considering how long Microgaming's been around comparatively, and how many updates they've issued. Still, the action here is fast and loose, which makes for some excellent opportunities to win and win big.

Software & Graphics
Prima Poker's Microgaming software
Benefits from frequent updates, but not as much as one might hope; complaints still abound about bugs - what gives?
Some players need MS Virtual Java Machine to make it all work right
Not much in the way of graphics (Yawn!) - no avatars
Slow acting software that also happens to force players to act fast - a recipe for disaster!
No frills, flat, stark, utilitarian functionality - which some people actually prefer
Option allows beginners to view the strength of their hand while playing
Dual table play

Potential hoops to jump through (ie showing I.D.) and unnecessarily long wait times for some withdrawals - kind of unpredictable

Ease of Use
You've seen one Microgaming site, you've seen them all - you either love them or hate them
Small buttons
Clear textual tracking of pot size, chip stacks, and betting sequence
Instead of a countdown clock, they just warn you when you've got "10 seconds to go"
No all-in disconnect protection
No pre-select buttons
Raked hands counter is helpful
Seat selection preference is nice too
Lobby stats: average pot, player/flop & hands/hour
Player note-taking support
Find-a-player feature
