Inter Poker Review

Inter Poker, formerly InterCasino Poker, is the cardroom of InterCasino, the oldest online casino. More than any other online poker site, it seems Inter Poker generates extreme polarizing emotions in players.

Many players treasure Inter Poker for the huge bonuses, quality promotions, and endless schools of fresh fish swimming through thanks to a shared player-database with mother-site InterCasino. InterPoker detractors, however, bemoan the mediocre, buggy Cryptologic software, the exorbitant rake, the less-than-poker-savvy support staff, and the burdensome cashout procedures. It's a mixed bag.

InterPoker opened its cyber-doors in October, 2002.

Prop Player Incentive Program (paid-to-play) - while waiting for a spot at a table to open, pop-ups invite players to start a new table of a specific type (ie. $2/$4 NL), and earn $9-$15 per hour for playing there
Daily freerolls and Player Points freerolls (No Limit Holdem) with real cash prizes
Player Points reward program
The best progressive Bad Beat Jackpot I've found- starts at $2,500 and gains $250 each day unclaimed
Daily No Limit Holdem guaranteed pot tournaments (6,000 pounds, 12,000 pounds, $4,000)
Find the manager promotion ("Where's Ryan?")

Software & Graphics
Bland graphics
Reliable (used to be buggy, but seems to be fixed now)
Slow
"All-In" button is useful, and small enough to prevent accidental clicking
Time clock makes for quick play
Stats, like flop percentages and hands per hour
If on a Waiting List and a spot at target table opens, player is automatically moved, even if in the middle of a game at another table - that's frustrating!

Game Variation & Limits
Texas Holdem, Omaha (hi & hi/lo), 7 Card Stud
Heads-up Holdem available
No Limit & Pot Limit versions of Texas Holdem Omaha hi & hi/lo
Action in dollars, euros, and pounds sterling
Stakes range from $.50/$1 to $100/$200
Most of the action is Texas Holdem

Traffic
Constant flow of fresh fish from casino network
At peak hours - 1,500-2,000 ring game players and 1,500-2,200 tournament players

Competition
Interesting mix of solid players and loose novices
Lots of aggressive and unpredictable players
In my customer reviews, the word "maniacs" appeared regarding their fellow players

Rake
One of the worst around
Rake not discounted for short-handed tables
Higher rakes in pounds sterling and euros
Slightly redeemed by a "no flop - no drop" policy

Customer Service
24/7 live chat, email, and telephone support
Shares support staff with InterCasino which is both good and bad
Support staff is huge and response time is quick, but they're not poker-knowledgeable and they're sticklers for their rules (no flexibility)

Deposits & Cashouts
Must go through E-Cash Direct
E-Cash Direct accepts check, certified check, money order, Citadel, Visa, MasterCard, ATM, ACH (ECP), FirePay, NETeller, Telebuy, Basic 900pay, wire transfer
Withdrawal options -Visa, MC, ATM, ACH (ECP), check, Citadel, NETeller, FirePay, wire transfer
Cashouts require verification using a PIN number
PINs first assigned through the snail mail and can take over a week to receive
Even with PIN cashouts are still slow

Ease of Use
No real complaints about the interface other than occasional slowness
It seems the bugs in the software have all truly been fixed - let's hope
