Superior Poker Review

Click here for 100% Deposit Bonus

On the plus side, Superior Poker has enticing, neverending freerolls and satellites. On the minus side, they've designed a multi-stage system of tournaments that is unnecessarily overcomplicated and downright confusing, as are their Player Option Points (POP) redemption guidelines.

Their VIP program is so elaborate, it required its own separate website. Apparently, Superior Poker VIPs, in addition to the usual smattering of extra bonuses, get better customer support and quicker cashouts than the average member (which I'm not sure how I feel about). Superior Online Poker is part of the Action Network and shares a player base with such sites as Tiger Gaming and Island Poker.

I've read some seriously disquieting complaints about their customer service, frequent disconnects, and errors in tracking Player Option Points (I told you they were confusing; even their staff is confused). No wonder they have an elaborate VIP program; they seem to need all the player incentives they can come up with.

Bonuses
100% match upon signup (must earn points by playing lots of hands in their rakeback program)
Bonuses are hard to clear because instead of requiring players to simply play enough raked hands to redeem bonuses (as in most sites), here players must WIN enough raked hands to redeem bonuses, which is obviously much much harder

Promotions
Player Option Points (POP's) worth tournament buy-ins and other prizes
Big VIP program for frequent players that includes up to 20% rake-back
Ongoing daily 2-stage Promo Bucks tournaments
Ongoing daily 2-stage Pan tournaments
Invest $0, Beat 36 Players, Win $1000 - 4-stage freerolls
5-stage $25,000 Superior Poker Grand Tournament
Satellites for World Poker Tour Championship at the Bellagio in Las Vegas
7-stage all day every day Sit & Go qualifiers for the World Series of Poker

Software & Graphics

Smooth, clean, fast, though not always stable

Game Variation & Limits
Holdem, Omaha (hi & hi/lo), 7-Card Stud (hi & hi/lo), Guts Poker, Chinese Poker, Pan, AND Blackjack (which, I agree, is not poker)
Tournaments in many of the exotic games
Heads up tournaments available
Limits from $.50/$1 - $20/$40
Tournament buy-ins from $5 + .50 - $100 + 9

Traffic
Poor, especially considering shared player base, often under 1000 players
Recently announced 3000 players at peak hours one week in November, but I don't know how consistent that figure is
Many Canadian players (just an interesting side note - it of course did not influence how I scored them)

Competition
Like shooting fish in a barrel ("here fishie, fishie, fishie!"), albeit a very small barrel

Rake
$.25 every $5 at low limits, capped at $1
$1 every $20 (or $30, depending on the limits), capped at $3

Customer Service
24/7 Live help and email (no phone)
Sadly, far from superior - I've read many complaints about their support team in online forums

Deposits & Cashouts
Deposits - Neteller, FirePay, Visa, MasterCard
Cashouts - Neteller, FirePay, bank draft
About their cashier too I've read many complaints online (about delays, miscalculations, disagreements over amounts, etc.)

Ease of Use
Good lobby stats - average pot, hands/hour, flop %'s
Player notes & buddy lists
Complicated tournament structure with such confounding elements as promo bucks, copper coins, silver rings, gold bars, gemstones, and black pearls (can I have some yellow moons, orange stars, green clovers, blue diamonds, and purple horseshoes with that too, please?)
Complicated POP and bonus redemption requirements
